Here's a recipe I put together to use some stored home canned stuff.
KATHY'S KICKIN' CHICKEN
1 pint jar of chicken breast or 4 boneless breast 1 qt. jar black or pinto beans or 2 store bought cans 1 pint of corn or 1 can of corn 1 pint salsa or store bought jar (spicy or mild) 1 package of cream cheese or sour cream (your choice) 1/2 t cumin 1/2 t chili powder 1/2 t garlic powder Red pepper to taste 1 can Rotel tomatoes (tomatoes and green chilis) optional
Mix all together except cream cheese or sour cream. Heat til bubbly, or put in crock pot on low and go hunting or fishing all day. Add cream cheese or sour cream before serving. Serve as is, over rice, or as a dip with torrtilla chips. Yumm!

That sounds so good, especially with the cream cheese/salsa combination! Maybe sometime I'll have to try it. Would the recipe work just as well if you substituted grouse for the chicken?

Ha! Never had grouse. Use your bird of choice and let me know. I like it best with cream cheese and black beans.

Grouse, and quail and wild turkey, work very well in chicken recipes. I prefer them to chicken in fact.

Sounds really good, Kathy - I was needing a new dip recipe to take to a family gathering

Thanks Kathy. This will be good for use with some of the chicken breast I canned when it was on sale.
