A Question & A Suggestion

Q?: FOTH, Is it just my computer, or are the commas and apostrophes in the last two chapters showing up in the text of Mountain Refuge as some kind of bizarre smiley face? How do I get rid of that? It's so distracting.

Suggestion: You asked about folks visiting this site, and making it more friendly. What I miss about the other sites you used to post this story on is the "Thanks" button. Clicking that let me quickly note that I'd read a chapter and liked it, without posting the repetitious "Great chapter, really liked it." stuff. I like that it helps make threads shorter, yet gets the idea across. It also helps me find my "place" in the story when I've been away a while.
Is there a way to put a "Thanks" button here, or something like it?

Those weird symbols aren't showing up for me tonight, but they were a few weeks ago. Try hitting "refresh" a time or two, and they should disappear. It seems to be some occasional fluke in the forum software.

As for the "thanks" button, I've looked for a way to add that and there doesn't seem to be one that someone like me who doesn't have a lot of computer skill ( : can easily figure out. I'll keep looking, though.
